Cotacachi’s Less Fortunate Fed By Volunteers

Our main objective:

To feed the poor and give them shelter off the street.

The soup kitchen has been active for over a month and two meals are being served daily.  The people that live on the street are given a hot meal delivered by car and volunteers.

Homeless - 03

On October 5th we are planning our first annual fundraiser to reach our goals in helping the elderly poor.  A Hacienda with a large kitchen and dining room have offered their facility to have our fund raiser.

Meal tickets at $5.00 for a BBQ luncheon are being sold within our community.  There will be entertainment, silent auction and raffle tickets for nice prizes.   Outdoor games of horseshoes, croquet, pingpong and volleyball.

Hacienda is about 10 minutes from downtown Cotacachi and transportation will be provided at a nominal fee.

A wonderful Saturday planned with food, fun and games .  Transportation starting at 11:00am in front of Banco Pinchincha with pick up around every 45 minutes.  Details to follow for our people living in Cotacachi.

Do You Live in Cotacachi?

People living in Cotacachi, please email me if you would like to volunteer in the food kitchen – we do need your help.

Two days a month for a couple of hours would be a great help.

Your Help Needed for Our October 5th Fundraiser

Now the serious part…..  Donations are needed to move this project forward.  Would you like to feed some hungry people – 2 meals a day – 7 days a week for an estimate of $170 a week.  This can vary depending upon the number of people being fed.  Of course, the food pantry has to be filled to feed these poor people.

Part two of this project is to build a shelter attached to the soup kitchen.  We need 8 to 10 divided bedrooms for men and women off the street.  Bathrooms and hot showers plus beds, bedding etc.  Some of these people are mentally handicapped and need special care.

We take for granted our nice comfy beds and hot water showers – we are the fortunate.

Less Fortunate

Giving to the less fortunate with a grateful heart goes a long ways in helping the less fortunate.

Estimate for building the shelter is around $45,000 – the next update will show a thermometer  scale showing the donations to reach our goals.

Donations can be made through Ecuador Project Hope PayPal account – no amount is too small.

Many of you have helped in the past with the completion of two Indigenous pre-schools.

I visited Morales Chupa last week with books and diapers for the babies.  The school is in excellent condition with many happy smiling faces and a safe environment.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help.  This new project is a big challenge but I know you will continue to support in any way that is comfortable for you.

Wishing you many blessings.

As always,

Micky  Enright
Founder of Ecuador Project Hope
