What fun on Saturday April 19th to celebrate a birthday party for three brothers, ages 2,8 and 10, in their home. We expats were privileged to be invited to the festivities.
We shared snacks with all their family members, from sisters, brothers, mother and even the grandmother, aged 82. The main course was being cooked as we arrived. It was an enormous pot of rice with fresh vegetables shrimp and shredded chicken. Each child had his own birthday cake.
The 2 year old received a live chicken from one of the relatives and insisted that his Mother put it in the pot! Lucky for the chicken, that did not happen.
All in all, it was an experience to remember – being involved with a different culture. I hope you enjoy the photos of this celebration.
